Jobs for MBA are as widely varied as the industries which hire them, but generally fall into one of several major categories. Financial MBA with a specialization in the area of finance may work in fiscal management or CFO positions. They will not be doing the day-to-day accounting or bookkeeping work, but will supervise accountants and will be in charge of determining the financial path of the business or organization. Human Resources An MBA degree which specializes in the personnel aspects of the business is quite common. The human resources segment requires understanding of people, being current on regulations and laws which impact the workplace and hiring practices and recruitment. Technological An MBA degree with an emphasis in technology may be in charge of the IT program for a business. They must have the understanding of today's technology and how it applies to the specific business or industry they control. Because technology is changing so rapidly, the person with an MBA in this area will probably have to scramble just to keep up with changes. Global Business is no longer just local or even national; it is worldwide with ties to many other countries both in marketing and in production. Outsourcing is common as is setting up production plants in sites other than the United States. An MBA position with a global or international emphasis may live and work in countries other than the US and provide liaison with governments and people in other areas. Skills in communication and in dealing with people of other cultures is also important for the Global MBA
