The Masters of Business Administration degree is probably the world's most recognized postgraduate degree and the one which carries the most weight with potential employers. An MBA from a recognized and accredited business school can equate to hundreds of thousands of dollars of income over a lifetime.

The top quality business schools in the United States attract students from around the world, even when their home country has good MBA programs. International students come to the United States to learn about US companies and business methods and to form network associations which will help cement relations between the US and other countries, as well as between people from various countries.

The MBA programs are designed to appeal to a wide range of businesses and interests. Career advancement in human relations, finance, global business, environmental concerns, health care and ecommerce are just a few of the emphasis areas provided by an MBA degree.

An MBA program will probably appeal mostly to the mature person who has completed an undergraduate degree and has spent some time in the business world, although some students go directly from their baccalaureate to post grad work. An MBA program can be conducted either as a full-time or part-time student and is widely available through on-campus, distance learning or online methods. This allows the individual to continue in the workplace and pursue an advanced degree at the same time. Some employers will even participate in the MBA program by providing financial remuneration, internships and flexible scheduling for attending classes.
