While quality MBA programs are offered in many countries worldwide, the United States has the reputation for the big name schools and premier degrees. Many international students choose to take graduate work in universities in the United States even though there are good schools in their own homeland.
Particularly for those MBA candidates who desire to work in the global venue, a quality MBA course from another country may be a way to broaden experience while acquiring the degree. There are programs in other English speaking countries, but consider the value of having a MBA degree and being fluent in another language as well. These double competencies would make you almost invaluable in the business world.
For example, a review of MBA courses worldwide includes schools in Hong Kong, United Kingdom, Ireland, Philippines, Mexico, Lebanon, Canada, France, South Africa and Australia. In Mexico, and France at least classes are not conducted in English.
An American student would want to be careful in the selection of schools, because the program must be one with accreditation at least recognized by the businesses where there is interest in a career, but there is also some mystique attached to a foreign university which adds spice to the resume.
The cultural experience of living and studying in another country is an attractive feature of the worldwide MBA experience. Add to the historical and cultural influence, the invaluable experience of making a network of friends in another country and there is an entire package making worldwide MBA courses a great choice for a global businessperson.
The Masters of Business Administration degree is probably the world's most recognized postgraduate degree and the one which carries the most weight with potential employers.
